Radiant Power Corp. takes Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) to the next level with Sentinel.
SENTINEL is an independent power supply designed to provide backup power for crash survivable cockpit voice recorders (CVR). Recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this new product will help prevent the loss of data acquisition due to recorder power interruptions, which can hinder aviation accident and incident investigations. SENTINEL engages automatically to ensure continued recording of audio into the survivable recorders for an additional 10 minutes after all normal aircraft power ceases.
SENTINEL is compliant with ARINC 777 and interfaces to all ARINC 757/767 type CVRÕs. This lightweight unit supports cockpit voice, image, combination voice/data, combination voice/image or combination image/data recorders. With long life batteries that are designed for frequent power cycles and do not require recharge time to repeat a backup operation, the SENTINEL provides power you can depend on.
SENTINEL meets all the performance requirements of the ARINC 777 mandate and executes operational cycles regardless of the type of power loss. Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) and Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are available to meet your power capacity requirements. SENTINEL increases the amount of critical information being recorded and enables all aircraft subject to ARINC 757/767 to be compliant with new federal regulations governing CVRÕs.
